Interview with Amber K

It's been awhile since I posted in the Almanac. I have to confess that the daily grind of life has gotten me down. Although I realize that this "reality" is not all there is, I find it hard at times to keep my focus. Having a regular job has interfered with my writing, for I find I cannot squeeze creativity into small blocks of time.

In search of inspiration, I went You-Tube surfing, and found an interview with Amber K and Azrael Arynn K, from Living the Wiccan Life.

Amber K and Azrael are both Wiccan priestesses and are life partners. Amber K has written such books as "CovenCraft" and "True Magick" and together they have written Candlemas: Feast of Flames,Heart of Tarot: An Intuitive Approach, and their newest book, RitualCraft: Creating Rites for Transformation and Celebration

from Amber K's True Magick
"Perhaps this is the goal of all spiritual paths: to reconnect with the Source, to bridge the chasm of illusion which makes us feel separate and alone, to come Home.

But the quest requires us to change, and magick is an effective tool for this. The scary part is this: we can't know who we are changing into until we actually experience the change. By then it's too late for second thoughts. We cannot change back -- we can only keep changing, or wither."

This certainly has been true in my life. I only wish that I could figure out where all the changes are leading.

In "Covencraft, Witchcraft for Three or More" she gives this advice

Counsel to an Elder

If you don't know who you are by now,
then choose who you desire to be.

Listen much, speak little.

When the teacher is ready to learn,
the students will come to teach.

You can affect the lives of others, but in the end
their lives are their responsibility.

Coyote has a standing invitation to your life,
issued by Himself.

You may live to be a hundred, but will you have lived a hundred years,
or the same year a hundred times?

Always have a rubber trout or its spiritual equivalent
on the altar.

We are by nature a young and frolicsome species,
Never consider yourself too old to play.

All that you have seen or sensed in every God/dess
is within you.

Bless all about you. Blessed Be

Amber K is the Executive Directive of Ardantane, a pagan learning center in New Mexico.
